MTN Ghana has commenced the payment of ₵17.1 Million to 10,630,175 customers, as interest earned for Quarter 1 of 2019.
This brings the total to over ₵156.2 Million in interest paid to Mobile Money customers, since the commencement of interest payment in 2016. The disbursement, which commenced from April 28, 2019, was done in collaboration with the 17 partner banks of MTN.
Commenting on this interest payment, the General Manager for MTN Mobile Financial Services, Eli Hini, reiterated MTN's commitment to consistently honour these interest payments, ensuring that MTN Mobile Money customers enjoy the full benefits of the service.”
Mr Hini urged all Mobile Money subscribers to cultivate the habit of keeping money in their wallets for their daily transactions whilst enjoying interest instead of keeping cash with all its associated risk.
MTN Mobile Money subscribers are continuously cautioned to be vigilant and wary of fraudsters.
